HomeNHS Talking Therapies

NHS Talking Therapies

This is a therapy service called NHS Talking Therapies – Anxiety and Depression, which is funded by the NHS. We offer a range of one-to-one therapy including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centred counselling, integrative therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming (EMDR) therapy as part of this programme.

We can also support you to access guided online therapy support through a platform called SilverCloud. SilverCloud has a range of different modules and uses CBT techniques to help you understand your thoughts, feelings and actions, providing you with tools to manage your problems.

During your initial assessment with our service, we will discuss and agree the most appropriate approach for your problems taking into account any other requirements you have. If we are not the right service for you, we will always signpost or refer you on to a more suitable alternative service.

How do I refer?

To access the service, please complete our secure e-referral form and a member of the team will be in touch with you to arrange an initial assessment within a few weeks. We welcome both self-referrals as well as professional referrals. If you’re referring someone else, please ensure you gain their consent first.

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy - Free Eight Week Course

Join us for a free eight week course on the benefits of mindfulness. This course will run from Wednesday 22nd January, 6-8pm.

To refer for this course, please complete the referral form above, and state MBCT as your reason for referral.

For more information, please email therapy@gaddum.org.uk or visit our Eventbrite.

Where can I get help right away?

It’s important to know that there is a wait for support to start and we are not a crisis service.  For this reason, if you feel like you’re in crisis or need urgent help right now, we’ve put together a downloadable resource about services who can support you right away (we’d also recommend speaking with your GP in these instances).

What people say about my service

I have been having counselling through Gaddum for a few years now. I find it helps me immensely and enables me to deal with what my life throws at me.

Client

I have struggled for many years with anxiety and depression. It felt safe to speak to Gaddum about what was troubling me and talk through my emotions. I had never done that before.

Client accessing therapy

My counsellor was very gifted. She didn’t give solutions, but she guided me to find my own. She was very empathetic and very professional.
